The children were pronounced dead shortly after they arrived in hospital.

"We are still at the early stages of understanding exactly what happened and why - but at this time I can confirm we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.
"I am still keen to hear from anyone who was in the area in the early hours of yesterday morning and who has not yet spoken to us, please do get in touch."
The children's mother was not seriously injured in the
fire and is being treated as a witness.

Des Moines is arrested for Voters frauds

POLK COUNTY, Iowa — A Des Moines woman has been arrested on suspicion of voting twice this month in the general election, police and court records show.
Terri Lynn Rote, 55, was booked into the Polk County Jail about 3:40 p.m. Thursday on a first-degree election misconduct charge, which is a Class D felony.
Rote, a registered Republican, reportedly cast an early voting ballot at the Polk County Election Office, and another ballot at a county satellite voting location in Des Moines, according to a Des Moines police report.

It's the first time in 12 years that Polk County Auditor Jamie Fitzgerald can remember ever having to report potential voter fraud, he said Thursday morning.
The other two suspects are accused of casting mail-in ballots and also voting in person, according to police reports. As of Friday morning, neither of those suspects had been arrested.
The case is under investigation by Des Moines police.
"I think it shows that our voting system works in Iowa, that we're able to catch it," Fitzgerald said.
"Tensions are running high on both sides" as Election Day approaches, the county auditor said, but the cases of double voting could also have been simple mistakes. "That's not for me to decide," he said.
Rote was held in jail on a $5,000 bond, but she had been released as of Friday afternoon. Her next court appearance was scheduled for Nov. 7, court records show.
Early voting in Polk County started Sept. 29. Election Day is Nov. 8. Go to the source for more details

How I caught my wife cheating on me by setting up a trap.

The Agege Customary Court yesterday dissolved the 12-year-old marriage between, Patrick Idoko a police man and his wife, Udoka, for unfaithfulness, lack of love and trust.

Patrick Idoko, who is aged 40, from Benue State, who lives in Shomoye Street, Ijaiye-Ojokoro, Lagos described his wife as annoying and uncaring to him.

He went to court to end the marriage on grounds of unfaithfulness, lack of love and care for hims and the four children of the union.

His marriage, he said, there was no crises until two years ago when he suspected Udoka his wife having extra-marital affairs with another man.

“l set a trap for her and she fell for it on the 12 of January  and since then, my wife refused to come home.

“Due to her shameful act, she left me and I have been taking care of the children.”

The petitioner said he secretly installed a memory card on the new phone he bought for her to record her conversations.

“The playback of the phone revealed the secret conversations between the respondent and her secret lover.”

In her response, Udoka, denied all the allegations made against her and pleaded with the court not to dissolve the marriage, attributing her travails to rumour mongers in their neighbourhood.

The petitioner had earlier accepted to take the woman back on the condition that she subjected herself to some “spiritual cleansing”.

The respondent agreed to the terms, but refused to follow the husband to the village for the cleansing.

Dissolving the union, the President of the court, Mr Philip Williams, said: “The relationship between the couple has broken down completely and the respondent shows she is no more interested in the marriage.”

He asked both parties to go their separate ways and warned them to desist from blackmailing and harassing each other.

The president warned the respondent not to go to the petitioner’s residence, work place or his church to
cause trouble and directed that the marriage dissolution certificate should be sent to Udoka to inform her about the development.
